We’ve become
Hope Network
Our work reaches far beyond prison walls. Now our name does too.
We journey with women in and beyond prison, providing the support and courage they need to navigate positive pathways and create change.
With your help, we’ve supported women and their families, for 79 years.
The majority of women in prison have suffered trauma and abuse, which has been a driver of incarceration.
Prison, by its nature, is dehumanising and isolating. It damages health, hope and the ability to create change. We stand in that gap, restoring hope, dignity and purpose. We journey with women in and beyond prison, providing the support and courage to rebuild their lives.
Together, we strengthen families, improve outcomes for children, and disrupt intergenerational cycles of incarceration and disadvantage.
What we do
Hope for the Future
Our range of in-prison programs builds a sense of hope, preconditions for change, reduces shame and stigma, and strengthens capacity for positive relationships, including those with children.
Supporting Families
When a mother spends time in prison, it creates an adverse experience for her children that can have a lifelong impact. We aim to minimise that impact by creating opportunities for children to connect and share meaningful, fun experiences.
Pathways to New Purpose
Post-release support is crucial to break out of the vicious cycle of intensifying vulnerability and sometimes repeated incarceration. To help disrupt that cycle, we support women post-release with housing, employment, and the rebuilding of their lives.
